Spectators: 7935 (Terracing: 6035, Seating: 1850, VIP seats: 50) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Shannon McTom made the kick off which started today's match. Triain Scully took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Becan Frankson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alan McFrank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Triain Scully tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cloghernagh's Alan McFrank got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Bivadas McCollion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alan McFrank in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Triain Scully prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Becan Frankson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Triain Scully having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Ballybrood got a freekick which was hit by Donald Rutherford. 36 minutes into the match, Cloghernagh's goal looked a bit too open when Shannon McTom came free, but Ardán McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cloghernagh booed when Ballybrood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donald Rutherford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brennon Cassin, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 46thth minute of the game Alan McFrank who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballybrood's Triain Scully was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Becan Frankson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Becan Frankson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Triain Scully managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Cloghernagh's Alan McFrank fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Becan Frankson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Bivadas McCollion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Triain Scully showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Becan Frankson in the 84th minute of the match. Triain Scully didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alan McFrank went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Cloghernagh's Keeghan Doyle got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Bivadas McCollion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ballybrood booed when Cloghernagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Ramsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Cloghernagh could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ballybrood throughout the match.
