The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Danann McCready came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Corvoley's Bairthmead Holt. But to his dismay, Bairthmead Holt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Corvoley's goal looked a bit too open when Henry McPaul came free, but Gerard Deery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 20 minutes, Henry McPaul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Up The Dubs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henry McPaul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Bairthmead Holt made a precise shot to the right of Danann McCready. Up The Dubs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Bairthmead Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Berk McBrandon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Up The Dubs booed when Corvoley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brin McNamara didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 46 in the game by Henry McPaul from a close distance when the talented Gerard Deery managed to make a qualified save. Corvoley's players were relieved. Bairthmead Holt charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bairthmead Holt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th match minute, Corvoley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bairthmead Holt to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Corvoley were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bairthmead Holt made a kick off. 53 minutes in the game Biviti Hunt did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Bevin Callaghan. A collision led to Corvoley getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rordan Deery hit a great ball. After 56 played minutes, Up The Dubs's Bearnad Jameson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gerard Deery came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Up The Dubs reached it. During the 60th minute of the match Bairthmead Holt completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bairthmead Holt a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bardan Morrison's late challenge caught a Corvoley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bardan Morrison helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Up The Dubs's Bardan Morrison got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 80th minute, Quinton Ramsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Corvoley's Quinton Ramsey got a free kick in the 88th minute.
