Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Boudibiua Savic took the kick off in the first half of the match. Conaghra's Baodan Glen Crowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boudibiua Savic in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Derryrush Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Herne Byrne came free, but Piers Cronin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baodan Glen Crowe made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Baird Coyle sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute, Colm McWill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Piers Cronin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Derryrush Utd's Boudibiua Savic was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 20thth minute of the game Boudibiua Savic who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Conaghra's Baodan Glen Crowe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Conaghra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desmond McSteve to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Herne Byrne made a precise shot to the right of Piers Cronin. Derryrush Utd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Piers Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herne Byrne in the 28th minute of play. Baodan Glen Crowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boudibiua Savic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colm McWill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piers Cronin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Herne Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piers Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colm McWill in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Derryrush Utd defense, Colm McWill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Piers Cronin. The Derryrush Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Piers Cronin should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Baodan Glen Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boudibiua Savic, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Boudibiua Savic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Derryrush Utd's Oliver McPhil got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 69th minute, Baird Coyle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Conaghra's Herne Byrne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Piers Cronin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bresal Matthews kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Colm McWill kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Piers Cronin. That made the score 2-4 in the 87 minute of play. Shiel Silke kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Herne Byrne took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Piers Cronin. Piers Cronin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Conaghra eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
