Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Bevan Martyn made the kick off which started today's match. Joshua Johnson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brefni Tierney in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th match minute, Anascaul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boddibevve McVictor to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute, Derry Ferguson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th match minute, Dundalk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryley Mullan to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Anascaul's zone, Beairtle Rutherford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torran Mulvihill came out of the goal and Beairtle Rutherford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Dundalk FC's Donahue McAlphie got a free kick in the 16th minute. When Ryan Keegan, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 18 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Joshua Johnson was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Beckett Sheridan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torran Mulvihill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beairtle Rutherford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joshua Johnson came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Anascaul's Brefni Tierney. But to his dismay, Brefni Tierney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ryley Mullan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Torran Mulvihill made a huge save. Fergus Ryan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anascaul's Torran Mulvihill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derry Ferguson in the 38th minute of play. Donahue McAlphie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Bevan Martyn came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Dundalk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bevan Martyn couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Bevan Martyn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Torran Mulvihill. That made the score 1-1 in the 45 minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ryan Keegan to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bevan Martyn in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Torran Mulvihill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Bevan Martyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Torran Mulvihill was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Brazil Harkin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Joshua Johnson made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Bevan Martyn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Torran Mulvihill. Anascaul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bevan Martyn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Torran Mulvihill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bevan Martyn's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Torran Mulvihill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derry Ferguson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Dundalk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Keegan came free, but Joshua Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Dundalk FC's zone, Ryan Keegan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joshua Johnson came out of the goal and Ryan Keegan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Torran Mulvihill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derry Ferguson in the 95th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Dundalk FC had won after a very even match.
