An unexpectedly hard shot by Bevan Martyn in the 4th minute of play forced Lissivigeen's goalkeeper Cleary Grant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dundalk FC's zone, Gearoid McGlenn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joshua Johnson came out of the goal and Gearoid McGlenn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Dundalk FC's goalkeeper Joshua Johnson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tipraite McBrand. A collision led to Lissivigeen getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Bren MaCollin hit a great ball. Auley Taylor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cleary Grant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Cleary Grant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derry Ferguson in the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Beairtle Rutherford made a precise shot to the right of Cleary Grant. Lissivigeen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cleary Grant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bevan Martyn in the 32nd minute of the match. Cleary Grant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bevan Martyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gearoid McGlenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Johnson having to interfere. When Peadar McWill fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lissivigeen's protests and gave Peadar McWill a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Lissivigeen getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Peadar McWill hit a great ball. Derry Ferguson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Cleary Grant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Bevan Martyn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cleary Grant. Lissivigeen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bevan Martyn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

The wind increased when Gearoid McGlenn made the kick off in the second half. Cleary Grant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Beairtle Rutherford showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 52 minute of play. The supporters of Dundalk FC booed when Lissivigeen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brannagh Beckett didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tipraite McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Lissivigeen's goalkeeper Cleary Grant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harrington McAlphie. Tipraite McBrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Bevan Martyn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cleary Grant, 0-4. In the 73rd minute Tipraite McBrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joshua Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Tipraite McBrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baine McJon kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. A collision led to Lissivigeen getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Tipraite McBrand hit a great ball. In the 88th match minute, Dundalk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donahue McAlphie to maneuver through the defense. Cleary Grant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bevan Martyn in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Peadar McWill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Lissivigeen's Cleary Grant got control of the ball when Ryley Mullan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute, Bevan Martyn reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cleary Grant. The goal made the score 0-5. Dundalk FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
