Tevin Prunty charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tevin Prunty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With an all-out effort, Maulykeavane's Dennis Walker threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pearson McLian, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Pearson McLian sped through Green Trees's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dennis Walker. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Haşim Soyuer in the 28th minute of play forced Maulykeavane's goalkeeper Russ Coyle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32ndth minute of the game Ahmet Haşim Soyuer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maulykeavane's Russ Coyle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russ Coyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wincenty Bronkala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Torrey Mullan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Maulykeavane's Russ Coyle did a great save. In the 36th match minute, Green Trees was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tevin Prunty to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Wincenty Bronkala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Green Trees's supporters rose to their feet, but Wincenty Bronkala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Russ Coyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ahmet Haşim Soyuer came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Green Trees fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Haşim Soyuer couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Bairrionn McCready reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Russ Coyle. The goal made the score 1-2. Maulykeavane's Brogan McJames got his second yellow card of the match in the 56th minute. The referee ordered Brogan McJames off the ground. In the 57th minute, Brogan McJames hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 played minutes Green Trees got a freekick which was hit by Tevin Prunty. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Wincenty Bronkala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Green Trees's supporters rose to their feet, but Wincenty Bronkala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Russ Coyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maulykeavane's Abbot McNamara suffered a sore thigh after 66 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Green Trees's Tevin Prunty got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Tevin Prunty off the ground. Maulykeavane's Russ Coyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincenty Bronkala in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Ahmet Haşim Soyuer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Russ Coyle, passed just outside the right post. In the 78th minute Wincenty Bronkala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Coyle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dugan Rutherford hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Ahmet Haşim Soyuer struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Russ Coyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Trees. Torran McNamee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Wincenty Bronkala got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Donncha McJohn came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Maulykeavane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donncha McJohn couldn't finish the play. Green Trees's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
