When Cianán McAaron fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Suduva's protests and gave Cianán McAaron a yellow card for diving instead. Cianán McAaron kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Brak McJohnny might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beehan Gillmour. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brak McJohnny ran back to his position shaking his head. Brak McJohnny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC Suduva's zone, Thom McLaughlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beehan Gillmour came out of the goal and Thom McLaughlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Maradona getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Keegan Beckett hit a great ball. Barnaby Silke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Curran John blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bradner Scully having to make a save. In the 41st minute Gil Matthews suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 41 minutes into the game, Keegan Beckett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maradona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Suduva the free kick. A collision led to Maradona getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Keegan Beckett hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
After 51 played minutes Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Cruz. Maradona's Bradner Scully proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Maradona from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, Maradona's goalkeeper Bradner Scully had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barnaby Silke. After 81 minutes, Brak McJohnny mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maradona and the FC Suduva players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brak McJohnny hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After having played for 88 minutes, Donn McPhilip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maradona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donn McPhilip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Barnaby Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Suduva's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnaby Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bradner Scully breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Maradona's Keegan Beckett got a free kick in the 96th minute. Despite being the better team, FC Suduva failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
