The referee ignored Maulykeavane's protests and gave Barra McLaughlin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Dublin Athlétic™ booed when Maulykeavane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barra McLaughlin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dublin Athlétic™'s Donall Ferguson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Maulykeavane. In the 20th minute, Pearson McLian fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bradigan Cassin, passed just outside the right post. The audience was convinced that Pearson McLian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bradigan Cassin was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Dugan Rutherford might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bradigan Cassin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dugan Rutherford ran back to his position shaking his head. After 24 minutes, Donoghue McWill mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maulykeavane and the Dublin Athlétic™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Maulykeavane getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Abbot McNamara kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Dublin Athlétic™'s Gerard Hughes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Russ Coyle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Donall Ferguson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Russ Coyle. Maulykeavane's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dugan Rutherford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Bradigan Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Maulykeavane's Pearson McLian in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 82 minutes of play, Maulykeavane's Dugan Rutherford made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bradigan Cassin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pearson McLian charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abbot McNamara during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After taking down the ball on Dublin Athlétic™'s corner Donall Ferguson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Russ Coyle quite easily take care of the ball. Gerard Hughes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Russ Coyle made a huge save. Bradigan Cassin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donncha McJohn in the 97th minute of the match. Maulykeavane walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
