Ballykean's Booak McPeter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Ballykean from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, Cormac Beckett made a precise shot to the right of Blathmac Ferguson. Benmore's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Earnán Deans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballykean's supporters rose to their feet, but Earnán Deans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blathmac Ferguson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Pearson Dempsey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Blathmac Ferguson was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Keelin McCready hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Pearson Dempsey sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Benmore's Blathmac Ferguson didn't even have to move.
