Samuel Benson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blathmac Ferguson having to interfere. The supporters of Benmore booed when Attinkee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torna Mullan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Renny McJohn came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Attinkee fans jumped to their feet. Blathmac Ferguson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cahir Dunne in the 89th minute of the match.
