When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Herich Lester took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Booak McPeter to make any attempt to save it. Bohannon Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pearson Dempsey in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Bray Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 played minutes, Flughany's Herich Lester shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Booak McPeter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Flughany reached it. After 23 minutes, Bartel Bayes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballykean and the Flughany players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ballykean's Bartel Bayes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 29 minutes into the match, Ballykean's goalkeeper Booak McPeter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herich Lester. Booak McPeter made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Tierney Crowe sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute, Pearson Dempsey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bohannon Horgan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When Herich Lester came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Flughany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herich Lester couldn't finish the play. Pearson Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bohannon Horgan having to interfere. Flughany's Bohannon Horgan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Flughany from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Breenan Caffey in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ballykean's Cormac Beckett. Booak McPeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seosamh Willson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Flughany getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Berkeley Lester hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Pearson Dempsey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bohannon Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ballykean's Earnán Deans slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bohannon Horgan. That made the score 2-4 after 82 minutes of play. Ballykean's Earnán Deans got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Tierney Crowe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Booak McPeter was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Bohannon Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pearson Dempsey in the 94th minute of the match. Earnán Deans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Bohannon Horgan made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ballykean eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
