A very good chance. 7 minutes into the game, Carrickmore's Branson Gollogley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fintan Doherty made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Breanainn Doherty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harkin McLaughlin kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Branson Gollogley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 16 in the game by Branson Gollogley from a close distance when the talented Fintan Doherty managed to make a qualified save. Dundalk FC's players were relieved. Fintan Doherty acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rownun Dalton. In the 18th match minute, Dundalk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherlock Hunt to maneuver through the defense. Carrickmore's Coran McPhil shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 21st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fintan Doherty but with some difficulty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Branson Gollogley got free with Fintan Doherty in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paudraig Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breandan Cooney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paudraig Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Robinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Carrickmore's zone, Oliver Robinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paudraig Johnson came out of the goal and Oliver Robinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The long shot by Rownun Dalton in the 36th minute really tested Fintan Doherty's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 36th minute, Harkin McLaughlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Breanainn Doherty was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Carrickmore's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fintan Doherty was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Breanainn Doherty showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Fintan Doherty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Breanainn Doherty in the 44th minute. Fintan Doherty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breanainn Doherty in the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Breanainn Doherty made a kick off. Fintan Doherty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breanainn Doherty in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Carrickmore booed when Dundalk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sherlock Hunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Branson Gollogley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fintan Doherty was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Torrian Dillon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Carrickmore's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Robinson came free, but Paudraig Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fintan Doherty came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Carrickmore's Branson Gollogley. But to his dismay, Branson Gollogley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 72 played minutes Dundalk FC got a freekick which was hit by Sherlock Hunt. In the 75th minute, Oliver Robinson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Baoithin Savic fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dundalk FC's protests and gave Baoithin Savic a yellow card for diving instead. Baoithin Savic kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Breanainn Doherty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fintan Doherty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breanainn Doherty in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Sherlock Hunt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sherlock Hunt during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sherlock Hunt kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Carrickmore's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
