The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donegan McCollion helped the player get up and apologised. Donegan McCollion hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Bairrionn Callaghan came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Geevagh's Babe Duggan. But to his dismay, Babe Duggan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Roland Sheridan kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Rusheens's Bairrionn Callaghan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babe Duggan in the 33rd minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Louis McIan was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Bat McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geevagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bat McSteven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donegan McCollion in the 55th minute of play forced Geevagh's goalkeeper Teigue Crowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Roland Sheridan fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Geevagh's protests and gave Roland Sheridan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rusheens's Joshua Costello got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Cian Brennan charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cian Brennan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cian Brennan kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Teigue Crowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louis McIan in the 70th minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Trevor Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Joshua Costello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute, Roland Sheridan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Rusheens's Trevor Benson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teigue Crowe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Louis McIan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Teigue Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chants of Geevagh echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Rusheens had held the ball for most of the match.
