The supporters of Bunnagippaun booed when Geevagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barock McGlynn didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Geevagh getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Barock McGlynn hit a great ball. Teigue Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bragan McWillie, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. From close distance Babe Duggan pressed in the 2-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 24 minutes into the game. In the 28th minute, Babe Duggan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geevagh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 32nd minute, Babe Duggan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bean Dempsey was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Bat McSteven hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bunnagippaun's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ciarán McTom was slow to take the kick. During this time Geevagh's players had a chance to rest. Bean Dempsey was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Babe Duggan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Babe Duggan really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The Geevagh fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Geevagh's Babe Duggan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 58 minutes in the game Brain Hughes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rowe Morrison. After 60 played minutes Geevagh got a freekick which was hit by Barock McGlynn. Bat McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bunnagippaun's Bean Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babe Duggan in the 81st minute of play. Babe Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th match minute, Bunnagippaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timmons Ryan to maneuver through the defense. If Ciarán McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barock McGlynn's late challenge caught a Bunnagippaun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barock McGlynn helped the player get up and apologised. Barock McGlynn hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Barock McGlynn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Bean Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Brain Walker kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teigue Crowe. That made the score 7-1 in the 90 minute of play. There was no doubt that Geevagh were the better team. Geevagh's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
