Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Babe Duggan made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the game, one of Finuge Utd:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 8th minute, Bresal Johnson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Finuge Utd's Baine Dimson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Geevagh. Bran Caffrey came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Geevagh's Babe Duggan. But to his dismay, Babe Duggan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Teigue Crowe made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Pauric Gough sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doney Martyn during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Geevagh booed when Finuge Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doney Martyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bran Caffrey came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Geevagh's Babe Duggan. But to his dismay, Babe Duggan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Finuge Utd's Pauric Gough got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barock McGlynn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Bran Caffrey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Torrey Walker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Finuge Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Geevagh the free kick. Bran Caffrey went to the wrong direction when Ciarán McTom was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

60 minutes into the match, Babe Duggan notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Finuge Utd's Bran Caffrey. Bran Caffrey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bat McSteven's late challenge caught a Finuge Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bat McSteven helped the player get up and apologised. Bat McSteven kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Babe Duggan struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Bran Caffrey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geevagh. Babe Duggan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Bran Caffrey skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 78 minutes of play Finuge Utd's Torrey Walker was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 78th minute, Torrey Walker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cian Brennan made in the 81st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ciarán McTom. A collision led to Geevagh getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Barock McGlynn hit a great ball. After 91 played minutes Geevagh got a freekick which was hit by Barock McGlynn. Finuge Utd's Bran Caffrey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Finuge Utd from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Geevagh eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
