Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Babe Duggan made the kick off which started today's match. If Breannain Walker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teigue Crowe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breannain Walker went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Branchfield getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Tormaigh Prunty hit a great ball. Bat McSteven scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Branigan Ghee, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Teigue Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gill Ghee in the 17th minute of play. The throw-in from Gearoid McPeter in the 26th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Branchfield's Bergin Dillon. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gill Ghee in the 30th minute of play forced Geevagh's goalkeeper Teigue Crowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Cian Brennan in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Branchfield's Baird Prunty. In the 38th minute, Gearoid McPeter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gill Ghee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Breannain Walker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teigue Crowe having to make a save. Barock McGlynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute, Bhrighde Gollogley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Barock McGlynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Branchfield's Bhrighde Gollogley got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Branigan Ghee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bat McSteven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 minutes, Gill Ghee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Branchfield and the Geevagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Geevagh booed when Branchfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gill Ghee didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Geevagh's goalkeeper Teigue Crowe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 83 played minutes Branchfield got a freekick which was hit by Bergin Dillon. Babe Duggan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branigan Ghee read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Geevagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Sheridan to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Branchfield players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
