Louis McIan's late challenge caught a Kilkea Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Louis McIan helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Rusheens got a freekick which was hit by Louis McIan. Kilkea Utd's Darrin Cooney quite brazenly broke a throw-in by George Cooney, made in the 19th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Donegan McCollion managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rusheens's supporters rose to their feet, but Donegan McCollion was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gearalt McAlphie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kilkea Utd's Darrin Cooney managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by George Cooney in the 37 minute of the game. In the 43rd minute, Bracken Mulvihill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bracken Mulvihill to strike the kick off in the second half. Russ McDecland charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Russ McDecland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 played minutes Kilkea Utd got a freekick which was hit by Russ McDecland. With a little luck, Kilkea Utd's Gearalt McAlphie got control of the ball when Louis McIan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rusheens's Bairrionn Callaghan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bracken Mulvihill in the 75th minute of play. Louis McIan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gearalt McAlphie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After 83 minutes Rusheens's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevis Mullan who took care of the corner kick. Bairrionn Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bracken Mulvihill in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bracken Mulvihill in the 94th minute of play forced Rusheens's goalkeeper Bairrionn Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Rusheens getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Louis McIan hit a great ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
