With an all-out effort, Reenroe's Pat Harkin threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bradner McTommy, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brendann Bayes got free with Pat Harkin in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Reenroe booed when Illanbaun Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dane Doyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bradner McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pat Harkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bragan Perth in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Reenroe getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Bragan Perth hit a great ball. Dane Doyle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Caolán Dempsey having to make a save. Kain Doyle charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kain Doyle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Illanbaun Utd getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Kain Doyle hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Brendann Bayes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reenroe's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendann Bayes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pat Harkin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 66th match minute, Illanbaun Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dane Doyle to maneuver through the defense. Cleary Mulvihill struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Pat Harkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradner McTommy, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Cleary Mulvihill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caolán Dempsey having to interfere. Pat Harkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rowley Prunty in the 95th minute of play. Reenroe's Bradner McTommy got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Illanbaun Utd's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
