After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Darragh Coyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rangers's supporters rose to their feet, but Darragh Coyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiarnan McLiam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Blathma McFrank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boru Dillon kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. With a little luck, Lavey's Tiarnan McLiam got control of the ball when Desmond McFrancise tried to sneak it across the goal line. Farrell McFrancise showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rowley Harkin in the 36th minute of the match. If Fergal McWill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Rangers's Desmond McFrancise dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Becan McSteven to make the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rangers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Boru Dillon was slow to take the kick. During this time Lavey's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Boru Dillon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Rangers's Farrell McFrancise did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rowley Harkin got free with Farrell McFrancise in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute, Rowley Harkin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lavey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 67th minute, Bowie Cooney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 70 minutes into the match, Becan McSteven had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Farrell McFrancise. Rangers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Becan McSteven was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After a rather tough play, Lavey's Boru Dillon got a free kick in the 77th minute. Rorry McDecland hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Rowley Harkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavey's supporters rose to their feet, but Rowley Harkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Farrell McFrancise breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot by Artt McStephen from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Farrell McFrancise's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Farrell McFrancise took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rorry McDecland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle went the supporters of Lavey were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Rangers side.
