Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 24th minute, Timmons Duggan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th match minute, Derrymullen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shiel Ryan to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute Boyd Walker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comhghall Quinnless saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Comhghall Quinnless showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyd Walker, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Boyd Walker notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Cornamona's Comhghall Quinnless. Comhghall Quinnless was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Cornamona players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Derrymullen FC were winning 1-2.

Donncha McCollion kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cornamona's Dolan McAaron got a free kick in the 61st minute. Cullan McAlphie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beiti Quinnless having to interfere. Cornamona's Timmons Duggan got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 75 minutes, Roland Myler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Derrymullen FC and the Cornamona players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Derrymullen FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Roland Myler hit a great ball. Comhghall Quinnless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Myler in the 85th minute of play. Timmons Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Cornamona manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Derrymullen FC to win.
