In the 20th match minute, Cornamona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donncha McCollion to maneuver through the defense. Tiarnan McLiam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timmons Duggan went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donncha McCollion made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Lavey's goal looked a bit too open when Donncha McCollion came free, but Tiarnan McLiam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiarnan McLiam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donncha McCollion in the 78th minute of the match. Tiarnan McLiam was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Donncha McCollion showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 79 minute of play. Rowley Harkin scored 1-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Comhghall Quinnless, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded Cornamona left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lavey.
