Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Blathmac Keegan started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Illanbaun Utd's zone, Blathmac Keegan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pat Harkin came out of the goal and Blathmac Keegan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cleary Mulvihill got free with Sheridan Beckett in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Illanbaun Utd's attentive Dane Doyle managed to snatch the ball when Pembroke McLaughlin made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. If Cleary Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Cleary Mulvihill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blathmac Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat Harkin having to interfere. In the 34th match minute, Illanbaun Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Costello to maneuver through the defense. Pat Harkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artuir Cassin in the 39th minute of the match. If Artuir Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pat Harkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artuir Cassin in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46th minute Blathmac Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Harkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cleary Mulvihill fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Illanbaun Utd's protests and gave Cleary Mulvihill a yellow card for diving instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cleary Mulvihill made a kick off. After 59 minutes, Bow McGlenn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Illanbaun Utd and the Foxhill players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Illanbaun Utd got a freekick which was hit by Bow McGlenn. After 63 minutes, Cleary Mulvihill made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Foxhill's Sheridan Beckett tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. During the 76th minute of the match Bow McGlenn completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bow McGlenn a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Foxhill's Blathmac Keegan got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Illanbaun Utd booed when Foxhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Killian Doherty didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Illanbaun Utd's goalkeeper Pat Harkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artuir Cassin. 93 minutes into the game, Artuir Cassin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Pat Harkin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Illanbaun Utd fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Foxhill were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
