Coolroe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Illanbaun Utd the free kick. Pat Harkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salmon Walker in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute of the match Coolroe got a corner. Illanbaun Utd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Salmon Walker ran over to the corner to take the kick. 47 minutes into the match, Coolroe's Keelin McPeter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pat Harkin narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Curran Cassin to strike the kick off in the second half. Pat Harkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Curran Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Coolroe's Justin Matthews got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Cleary Mulvihill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Curran Cassin in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pat Harkin saved Illanbaun Utd from getting behind. Pat Harkin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Salmon Walker showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 89 minute of play.
