Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kilsob AFC's Batt Palmer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The throw-in from Douglas McPeter in the 7th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Kilsob AFC's Burke McAlphie. Batt Palmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cleary Mulvihill in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boyle McJames saved Kilsob AFC from getting behind. Cleary Mulvihill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyle McJames having to interfere. Illanbaun Utd's Begley McNamara got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cleary Mulvihill got free with Boyle McJames in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the game, Kilsob AFC's Batt Palmer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pat Harkin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 28 minutes of play, Kilsob AFC's Batt Palmer made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pat Harkin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boyle McJames made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Cleary Mulvihill sent off a good shot on target.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cleary Mulvihill made a kick off. Baolach McTommy lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Kilsob AFC booed when Illanbaun Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baolach McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Batt Palmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burke McAlphie charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Burke McAlphie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, Kilsob AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Burke McAlphie to maneuver through the defense. Kilsob AFC's Boyle McJames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleary Mulvihill in the 70th minute of play. When Brite McJon fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilsob AFC's protests and gave Brite McJon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kilsob AFC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Brite McJon hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when Dane Doyle in the 77th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Boyle McJames's left hand side. Dane Doyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Boyle McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Kilsob AFC defense, Cleary Mulvihill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Boyle McJames. The Kilsob AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Boyle McJames should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute, Cleary Mulvihill left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Illanbaun Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After 95 played minutes Kilsob AFC got a freekick which was hit by Burke McAlphie. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
