In the 3rd minute Cleary Mulvihill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farrell McFrancise saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 4 minutes, Cleary Mulvihill made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Rangers's Farrell McFrancise tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rangers's Farrell McFrancise played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleary Mulvihill in the 10th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brann McLiam during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Farrell McFrancise was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21stth minute of the game Cleary Mulvihill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rangers's Farrell McFrancise was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rangers's Farrell McFrancise played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleary Mulvihill in the 24th minute of play. Farrell McFrancise showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cleary Mulvihill, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Farrell McFrancise made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleary Mulvihill in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Cleary Mulvihill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Illanbaun Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cleary Mulvihill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cleary Mulvihill blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Farrell McFrancise having to make a save. Farrell McFrancise made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleary Mulvihill in the 38th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Cleary Mulvihill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Illanbaun Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleary Mulvihill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Farrell McFrancise breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute Cleary Mulvihill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farrell McFrancise saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Farrell McFrancise took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleary Mulvihill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cleary Mulvihill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Illanbaun Utd's Dane Doyle quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Heron Sheridan, made in the 57th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Cleary Mulvihill had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Farrell McFrancise. Rangers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cleary Mulvihill was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cleary Mulvihill got free with Farrell McFrancise in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cleary Mulvihill struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Farrell McFrancise didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Illanbaun Utd. Cleary Mulvihill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farrell McFrancise read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Rangers getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Darragh Coyle hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rangers's zone, Cleary Mulvihill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Farrell McFrancise came out of the goal and Cleary Mulvihill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 minutes of play, Illanbaun Utd's Cleary Mulvihill made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Farrell McFrancise was left in no man's land by his defense there! Illanbaun Utd's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
