The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 4 minutes into the game, one of Irishtown:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Turkstown a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Buach McJohnny, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Irishtown's Nollaig Benson. 0-1. Nollaig Benson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Buach McJohnny in the 9th minute of play. Bhrighde McJames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Buach McJohnny in the 13th minute of play forced Irishtown's goalkeeper Nollaig Benson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Turkstown's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Bivadas Matthews scored to the left of an out of position Binne Branson, making the score, 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, Irishtown's goal looked a bit too open when Buach McJohnny came free, but Nollaig Benson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Turkstown's Binne Branson got control of the ball when Bivadas Matthews tried to sneak it across the goal line. Breanainn Ghee hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Bhrighde McJames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Nollaig Benson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buach McJohnny took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nollaig Benson. Nollaig Benson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bivadas Matthews was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Irishtown got a freekick which was hit by Bivadas Matthews. In the 53rd minute, Irishtown's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bhrighde McJames fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Buach McJohnny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nollaig Benson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nollaig Benson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 59th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. After 62 minutes, Bivadas Matthews mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Irishtown and the Turkstown players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Bivadas Matthews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denny McFrank was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 68 played minutes Irishtown got a freekick which was hit by Brion Coyle. After having played for 69 minutes, Buach McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Turkstown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Buach McJohnny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Buach McJohnny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Bhrighde McJames managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turkstown's supporters rose to their feet, but Bhrighde McJames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nollaig Benson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute Bhrighde McJames shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nollaig Benson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bhrighde McJames kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Turkstown booed when Irishtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Comhghall McNamara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buach McJohnny received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nollaig Benson came out and tried to block the shot, but Buach McJohnny slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 87th minute. Bivadas Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Binne Branson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Irishtown's goal looked a bit too open when Bhrighde McJames came free, but Nollaig Benson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Turkstown eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
