Baran McPhilip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cait Dubh Athy's goalkeeper Ionel Rogozea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Independente F.C's Beglan McBjarton in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cait Dubh Athy's goalie prevented a goal. Ionel Rogozea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hewney McJohn in the 14th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Baran McPhilip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baran McPhilip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 played minutes Independente F.C got a freekick which was hit by Hewney McJohn. A collision led to Cait Dubh Athy getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Abban Colwell hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Independente F.C defense, Abban Colwell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan Jerzyk. The Independente F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan Jerzyk should have stopped the shot. Donall Doyle kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Abban Colwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jan Jerzyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tevis Willson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tevis Willson in the 38th minute of play. Hewney McJohn scored 1-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionel Rogozea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 54th match minute, Independente F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex McAaron to maneuver through the defense. Ionel Rogozea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beglan McBjarton went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Cait Dubh Athy's Finn McOliver was substituted for Abban Colwell. After a rather tough play, Independente F.C's Bodibeve McWillie got a free kick in the 66th minute. A collision led to Cait Dubh Athy getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Brett Todd hit a great ball. Alex McAaron was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. Cait Dubh Athy made a substitution. Conor McVictor replaced Ennis Benson. Finn McOliver charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Finn McOliver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Finn McOliver hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Beglan McBjarton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bealtaine Caffey during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Independente F.C booed when Cait Dubh Athy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bealtaine Caffey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Independente F.C were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Cait Dubh Athy to leave the ground with a draw.
