The corner led Shamrock Rovers's Sean Deery to fire away a dangerous shot which Boyne McSteven despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

Charly Meulemans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harley McPaul in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Strand's zone, Robustiano Tino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyne McSteven came out of the goal and Robustiano Tino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
