Spectators: 8451 (Terracing: 6339, Seating: 1943, VIP seats: 169) Beachain Scully started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Blackwater's Beachain Scully got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 11 minutes into the game, Hewney McJohn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Robin McAlphie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Beachain Scully managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blackwater's supporters rose to their feet, but Beachain Scully was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Blackwater's Fintan McBrandon got a free kick in the 16th minute. Hewney McJohn in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robin McAlphie, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Biviti McBrand hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Berrin McSteve fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blackwater's protests and gave Berrin McSteve a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Blackwater getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Berrin McSteve hit a great ball. Hewney McJohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin McAlphie having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Blackwater's zone, Beglan McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robin McAlphie came out of the goal and Beglan McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Beglan McBjarton kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Robin McAlphie. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. Hewney McJohn who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Robin McAlphie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jan Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beachain Scully in the 39th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Beglan McBjarton to make the kick off. Hewney McJohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robin McAlphie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beglan McBjarton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robin McAlphie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hewney McJohn in the 57th minute of play. Robin McAlphie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beglan McBjarton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 77 minutes, Beglan McBjarton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beglan McBjarton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute Hewney McJohn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
