In the 4th match minute, Drumnasade AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis McOliver to maneuver through the defense. Harkin Rutherford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Brefni Deans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute Brefni Cooney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ravan Savic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Kilbeggan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boru McStephen to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Harkin Rutherford took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Brefni Deans to make any attempt to save it. After 28 played minutes Drumnasade AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bray Sheridan. If Harkin Rutherford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Kilbeggan's Harkin Rutherford sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brefni Deans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brefni Deans was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cleary Matthews.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boru McStephen to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Toren Hamilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ravan Savic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Toren Hamilton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Drumnasade AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Bellaghy McIan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. If Bellaghy McIan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bragan Ferguson made in the 76th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Isaac Horgan immediately put the ball in play. 84 minutes in the game Bragan Ferguson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Boru McStephen. A throw-in in the 89th minute of the game was made by Bray Sheridan with Toren Hamilton as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brefni Cooney during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Drumnasade AFC's Brefni Cooney got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harkin Rutherford in the 96th minute of play forced Drumnasade AFC's goalkeeper Brefni Deans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite being the better team, Drumnasade AFC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
