Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Harley McPaul started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Quirk Matthews mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strand and the Kilbeggan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, one of Strand:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Strand. In the 4th minute there was a penalty for Kilbeggan. Harkin Rutherford stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Boyne McSteven. 1-0. Bracken Gillmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ravan Savic having to interfere. Ravan Savic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiarnan Taylor in the 10th minute of the match. Kilbeggan's Harkin Rutherford got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Harkin Rutherford reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Boyne McSteven. The goal made the score 2-0. A collision led to Kilbeggan getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Branagain McWillie hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boru McStephen in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boyne McSteven saved Strand from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Harkin Rutherford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilbeggan's supporters rose to their feet, but Harkin Rutherford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boyne McSteven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Strand's Boyne McSteven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Strand from getting a goal against them. Branagain McWillie hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, Barney McTommy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Donn Gillmour left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strand fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 38 minutes of play, Kilbeggan's Harkin Rutherford made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Boyne McSteven was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boru McStephen to strike the kick off in the second half. Boyne McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harkin Rutherford in the 54th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Boru McStephen sped through Strand's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Boyne McSteven. In the 62nd minute, Harley McPaul fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Branagain McWillie kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. The supporters of Strand booed when Kilbeggan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barney McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Kilbeggan's Ravan Savic got control of the ball when Donn Gillmour tried to sneak it across the goal line. Harkin Rutherford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyne McSteven having to interfere. A collision led to Strand getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Bracken Gillmour hit a great ball. Harkin Rutherford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Boyne McSteven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 minutes, Shane Holt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strand and the Kilbeggan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Shane Holt hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Boyne McSteven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boru McStephen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boru McStephen might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boyne McSteven. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boru McStephen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute, Branagain McWillie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dane Deery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ravan Savic having to interfere. Bracken Perth hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
