Spectators: 8439 (Terracing: 6330, Seating: 1941, VIP seats: 168) 4 minutes into the game, Hewney McJohn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Boyne McSteven was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beglan McBjarton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyne McSteven having to interfere. In the 10th minute Beglan McBjarton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyne McSteven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hewney McJohn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Boyne McSteven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beglan McBjarton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes Independente F.C got a freekick which was hit by Artur Byrne. Independente F.C's Jan Jerzyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dane Deery in the 24th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beglan McBjarton got free with Boyne McSteven in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jan Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dane Deery in the 29th minute of the match. Alex McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boyne McSteven came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Independente F.C's Hewney McJohn. But to his dismay, Hewney McJohn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to Strand getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Bracken Gillmour hit a great ball. Beglan McBjarton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Boyne McSteven read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Hewney McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beglan McBjarton to strike the kick off in the second half. Alex McAaron hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Strand's Donn Gillmour couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Independente F.C. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Harley McPaul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strand's supporters rose to their feet, but Harley McPaul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boyne McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beglan McBjarton in the 59th minute of the match. Boyne McSteven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beglan McBjarton in the 60th minute of play. In the 64th minute, Hewney McJohn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Boyne McSteven was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Strand's zone, Beglan McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyne McSteven came out of the goal and Beglan McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Independente F.C's Jan Jerzyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harley McPaul in the 74th minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Independente F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davie Deery to maneuver through the defense. When Shane Holt fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strand's protests and gave Shane Holt a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Strand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shane Holt to maneuver through the defense. If Hewney McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jan Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bracken Gillmour, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Beglan McBjarton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyne McSteven having to interfere.
