Blaire Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terence Coyle in the 11th minute of the match. Triain Benson hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Tralee defense, Terence Coyle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Blaire Byrne. The Tralee fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Blaire Byrne should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rowe Kirby during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Tralee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rowe Kirby to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the game, Lee Ramsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clarina AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tralee the free kick. The supporters of Tralee booed when Clarina AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee Ramsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rowe Kirby missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 23 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Bairee Dalton right hand side. Tormaigh McCready charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tormaigh McCready the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, Tralee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tormaigh McCready to maneuver through the defense. Rowe Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bairee Dalton having to interfere. Rowe Kirby's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bairee Dalton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Clarina AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abbot Myler made a kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Caimin McBrand sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bairee Dalton skillfully saved the ball. In the 58th match minute, Tralee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blayne Robinson to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Terence Coyle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Rowe Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 77 minutes on the clock, Harkin Hutton commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 92 minutes into the game, Tralee's Baird Jameson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bairee Dalton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. A collision led to Clarina AFC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Suibhne McSteve hit a great ball.
