Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Barrie Morrison kicked off to start the match. When Rowe Kirby came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Tralee fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rowe Kirby couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Abbot Myler sped through Ballyconra Utd's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bercnan Robinson. Barrie Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Blaire Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ballyconra Utd booed when Tralee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowe Kirby didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Abbot Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tralee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abbot Myler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bercnan Robinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rowe Kirby in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Tralee getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Artt Colwell hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Tralee's Abbot Myler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bercnan Robinson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abbot Myler made a kick off. Barrie Morrison charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barrie Morrison the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes Ballyconra Utd got a freekick which was hit by Barrie Morrison. A collision led to Tralee getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Tormaigh McCready hit a great ball. Barrie Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Blaire Byrne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dennis McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute Rowe Kirby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bercnan Robinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th match minute, Ballyconra Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis McTommy to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Rowe Kirby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cacey Ramsey's late challenge caught a Tralee's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cacey Ramsey helped the player get up and apologised. Cacey Ramsey kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. When Abbot Myler came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Tralee fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barrie Morrison in the 77th minute of play forced Tralee's goalkeeper Blaire Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Dennis McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyconra Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis McTommy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blaire Byrne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dennis McTommy in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Blaire Byrne saved Tralee from getting behind. Caimin McBrand's late challenge caught a Ballyconra Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caimin McBrand helped the player get up and apologised. After 91 played minutes Tralee got a freekick which was hit by Caimin McBrand. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tralee walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
