Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ardlona's Seosamh Palmer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Roordan Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute of the match Austin Cassin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bartley Dunne skillfully saved the ball. Seosamh Palmer came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kain Hughes could save by the left post. The supporters of Ardlona booed when Shanboe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rollin Matthews didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tyrone Taylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Shanboe's Kain Hughes got control of the ball when Eamonn Ryan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute Eamonn Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kain Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Seosamh Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kain Hughes having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Seosamh Palmer in the 32nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Kain Hughes made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Seosamh Palmer sent off a good shot on target. Rollin Ferguson kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Ardlona's Eamonn Ryan in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shanboe's goalie prevented a goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tyrone Taylor to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garrett McJohnny in the 55th minute of play forced Shanboe's goalkeeper Kain Hughes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rollin Matthews hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Shanboe's Kain Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eamonn Ryan in the 57th minute of play. Tyrone Taylor struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Bartley Dunne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shanboe. When Rollin Ferguson fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shanboe's protests and gave Rollin Ferguson a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eamonn Ryan in the 67th minute of play forced Shanboe's goalkeeper Kain Hughes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ardlona booed when Shanboe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dane Mullan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kain Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seosamh Palmer in the 71st minute of play. Kain Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eamonn Ryan, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 85th minute Eamonn Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kain Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kain Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seosamh Palmer in the 86th minute of play. After 91 played minutes Shanboe got a freekick which was hit by Rollin Matthews. Tyrone Taylor's late challenge caught a Ardlona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tyrone Taylor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, Tyrone Taylor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ardlona fully deserved thier win.
