The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Terence Coyle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Leon McBrand made a huge save. 5 minutes into the match, Braddon Rutherford notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Clarina AFC's Bairee Dalton. Bairee Dalton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beckett John during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Damhliag's Beckett John got a free kick in the 10th minute. Terence Coyle scored 1-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leon McBrand, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Terence Coyle kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leon McBrand. That made the score 2-1 in the 23 minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Clarina AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Braddon Rutherford came free, but Bairee Dalton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes Clarina AFC got a freekick which was hit by Suibhne McSteve. Ryan Dimson lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

A collision led to Damhliag getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Joseph Horgan hit a great ball. Gehan McFrank charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gehan McFrank the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Clarina AFC booed when Damhliag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gehan McFrank didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clarina AFC's Derry McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Damhliag booed when Clarina AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Britain Morrison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bairee Dalton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braddon Rutherford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clarina AFC's Britain Morrison got his second yellow card of the match in the 78th minute. The referee ordered Britain Morrison off the ground. A collision led to Clarina AFC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Britain Morrison hit a great ball. Joseph Horgan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bairee Dalton. Clarina AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Braddon Rutherford struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Bairee Dalton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Damhliag. After a rather tough play, Damhliag's Joseph Horgan got a free kick in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braddon Rutherford in the 87th minute of play forced Clarina AFC's goalkeeper Bairee Dalton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Clarina AFC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
