Brenna Sheridan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hayes McGlynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ballytrasna defense, Hayes McGlynn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brenna Sheridan. The Ballytrasna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brenna Sheridan should have stopped the shot. Alan Hughes kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Caffey in the 33rd minute of play forced Kilgowan FC's goalkeeper Leonard McWill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Devlin Horgan during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Kilgowan FC a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Danann McMichel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ballytrasna's Brenna Sheridan. 0-2. Hayes McGlynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hayes McGlynn to make the kick off. Blair Martyn might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonard McWill. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blair Martyn ran back to his position shaking his head. 55 minutes into the match, Ballytrasna's Gil Caffey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonard McWill narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ballytrasna's Brenna Sheridan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Ballytrasna from getting a goal against them. Ballytrasna's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Hayes McGlynn scored to the left of an out of position Brenna Sheridan, making the score, 0-3. Brenna Sheridan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hayes McGlynn showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 79 minute of play. Isaac McWill charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 95th match minute, Kilgowan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleary McPhil to maneuver through the defense. Ballytrasna's Blair Martyn got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kilgowan FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
