A collision led to Ballygawley FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Blamhac McStephen hit a great ball. Rowan Doyle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gil Caffey's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Gil Caffey put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rowan Doyle. In the 11th minute Peadar McAlphie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rowan Doyle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bevin Morrison scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brenna Sheridan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rowan Doyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Caffey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Blamhac McStephen fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballygawley FC's protests and gave Blamhac McStephen a yellow card for diving instead. Donell Prunty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ballytrasna booed when Ballygawley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beagan Matthews didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rowan Doyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donell Prunty in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Ballygawley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biddy McTommy to maneuver through the defense. Rowan Doyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blair Martyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Declan McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beagan Matthews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brenna Sheridan having to interfere. Rowan Doyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shey McPhilip, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Shey McPhilip could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Rowan Doyle made a huge save. When Bel Rogers fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballygawley FC's protests and gave Bel Rogers a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ballytrasna booed when Ballygawley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bel Rogers didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Donell Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
