In the 14th minute Philib Beckett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Clongeen's goal looked a bit too open when Donoghue Jameson came free, but Pat Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute Philib Beckett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavin McNamee in the 21st minute of play forced Clongeen's goalkeeper Pat Rutherford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute Donoghue Jameson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pat Rutherford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gavin McNamee went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After the first half Baunrosmore were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baodan Horgan made a kick off. A collision led to Clongeen getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Berrach McSteve hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Clongeen's zone, Bard Deans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pat Rutherford came out of the goal and Bard Deans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Clongeen's Pat Rutherford got control of the ball when Donoghue Jameson tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bard Deans in the 60th minute of play forced Clongeen's goalkeeper Pat Rutherford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Baunrosmore's goal looked a bit too open when Baodan Horgan came free, but Baran Robinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clongeen's Pat Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philib Beckett in the 65th minute of play. Donoghue Jameson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Pat Rutherford made a huge save. 71 minutes into the match, Gavin McNamee had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pat Rutherford. Clongeen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gavin McNamee was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After a rather tough play, Clongeen's Donelle McTommy got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute, Donoghue Jameson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pat Rutherford. The goal made the score 0-6. Clongeen were furious when Donelle McTommy was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 83rd minute, Baunrosmore's Philib Beckett ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pat Rutherford. Pat Rutherford yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. When Brine McCready fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clongeen's protests and gave Brine McCready a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Clongeen getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Brine McCready hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Donoghue Jameson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Baunrosmore's Bard Deans got a free kick in the 90th minute. Pat Rutherford made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Gavin McNamee sent off a good shot on target. The Clongeen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Baunrosmore were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
