Banban Deans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finnigan Cooney in the 4th minute of the match. Finnigan Cooney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Banban Deans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Shanmullagh's Aaron Palmer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Patrick Deans. Patrick Deans yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Banban Deans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finnigan Cooney, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Rathcool's goalkeeper Patrick Deans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaron Palmer. Patrick Deans made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Aaron Palmer sent off a good shot on target. Banban Deans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Finnigan Cooney went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

The wind increased when Finnigan Cooney made the kick off in the second half. Finnigan Cooney hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, Rathcool's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Palmer came free, but Patrick Deans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harrigan Bayes kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match Rannal Hughes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Deans skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 61 minutes, Beothach McBrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shanmullagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beothach McBrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beothach McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Patrick Deans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Finnigan Cooney in the 69th minute of play forced Shanmullagh's goalkeeper Banban Deans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Finnigan Cooney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Banban Deans made a huge save. Aaron Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Deans having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Aaron Palmer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shanmullagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Palmer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Shanmullagh's Beothach McBrand got a free kick in the 83rd minute. When Beothach McBrand came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Shanmullagh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beothach McBrand couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute of the match Rannal Hughes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Deans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Finnigan Cooney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Banban Deans having to make a save. Despite being the better team, Shanmullagh failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
