Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Brenn McPhilip hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Rinneen FC's Brigid McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Troy McCready in the 8th minute of play. Scott Kelly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reidy McPeter, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Rinneen FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Reidy McPeter in the 12th minute. Troy McCready kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Salmon Gollogley got free in front of the goal in the 27th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Brigid McCollion was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 33rd minute Reidy McPeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott Kelly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Booak Ryan kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Scott Kelly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reidy McPeter in the 35th minute of play. Scott Kelly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reidy McPeter in the 39th minute of the match. Scott Kelly didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robert Gillmour went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Reidy McPeter made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Dookinelly booed when Rinneen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reidy McPeter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salmon Gollogley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute of the match Biddy Rutherford shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brigid McCollion showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dookinelly's zone, Reidy McPeter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Kelly came out of the goal and Reidy McPeter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 69 minutes into the game, one of Rinneen FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Gealan McTommy came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Rinneen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gealan McTommy couldn't finish the play. Brigid McCollion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Booak Ryan, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Rinneen FC's Logan Jameson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Comhghall McBrandon in the 79 minute of the game. Gealan McTommy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Scott Kelly having to make a save. Brigid McCollion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Booak Ryan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brigid McCollion came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Dookinelly's Troy McCready. But to his dismay, Troy McCready quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Salmon Gollogley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, Dookinelly could leave the field as winners, despite Rinneen FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
