Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Finnigan Cooney made the kick off which started today's match. Rathcool's attentive Dermod Mulvihill managed to snatch the ball when Donall McAaron made a throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game. Patrick Deans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blathma McSteve in the 8th minute of the match. A collision led to Rathcool getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Finnigan Cooney hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the game, Curhownagh's Blathma McSteve nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Deans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Alfred McDecland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick Deans. Rathcool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfred McDecland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Renny Tierney hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 24 minutes, Conn Barrett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rathcool and the Curhownagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes Rathcool got a freekick which was hit by Conn Barrett. After some careless play in the Rathcool defense, Alfred McDecland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrick Deans. The Rathcool fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Deans should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blathma McSteve in the 28th minute of play forced Rathcool's goalkeeper Patrick Deans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Rathcool's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred McDecland came free, but Patrick Deans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrick Deans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred McDecland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Blathma McSteve notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Rathcool's Patrick Deans. Patrick Deans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Patrick Deans came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Curhownagh's Brenan Myler. But to his dismay, Brenan Myler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 46th minute, Blathma McSteve left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Curhownagh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. After the first half Curhownagh were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfred McDecland to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Curhownagh's Donall McAaron got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Donall McAaron made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alfred McDecland however managed to control. 59 minutes into the match, Rowen Branson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick Deans. Rathcool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rowen Branson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfred McDecland got free with Patrick Deans in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfred McDecland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Rathcool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giles Martyn to maneuver through the defense. Patrick Deans made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Alfred McDecland sent off a good shot on target. Blathma McSteve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, Alfred McDecland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Patrick Deans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blathma McSteve got free with Patrick Deans in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 79 minutes, Donall McAaron mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curhownagh and the Rathcool players grew even worse after the yellow card. Donall McAaron kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Harrigan Bayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Brenainn Martyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Blathma McSteve dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Patrick Deans, 0-10. Patrick Deans made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Alfred McDecland sent off a good shot on target. Rathcool's Finnigan Cooney got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Harrigan Bayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the game's 97th minute Curhownagh's Rowen Branson took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Patrick Deans and thus the score was 0-11. Curhownagh's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
