Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Finnigan Cooney got the match started through his kick off. Rathcool's Patrick Deans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence Barrett in the 10th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Corbaly's goal looked a bit too open when Finnigan Cooney came free, but Bresal Dempsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes in the game Cleary McJohn did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Louie Keegan. 22 minutes into the game, Dermod Mulvihill was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rathcool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corbaly the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rathcool's Dermod Mulvihill got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Finnigan Cooney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Bresal Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Deans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terence Barrett in the 34th minute of play. Irwin McSteve took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bresal Dempsey. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Terence Barrett made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Corbaly's Terence Barrett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Deans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Finnigan Cooney took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bresal Dempsey. Bresal Dempsey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some careless play in the Corbaly defense, Finnigan Cooney kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bresal Dempsey. The Corbaly fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bresal Dempsey should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute Finnigan Cooney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bresal Dempsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bresal Dempsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finnigan Cooney, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Louis John received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Patrick Deans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Deans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keely Scully, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaden McJames in the 76th minute of play forced Corbaly's goalkeeper Bresal Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Barrett in the 92nd minute of play forced Rathcool's goalkeeper Patrick Deans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Keely Scully recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patrick Deans. Keely Scully showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2.
