Ferdia Gough didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rathclogh. After a defensive mix-up in Rathclogh's zone, Rordan Hamilton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyce Quinnless came out of the goal and Rordan Hamilton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Banon Ryan might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boyce Quinnless. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Banon Ryan ran back to his position shaking his head. Banon Ryan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Boyce Quinnless firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 38th minute, Banon Ryan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dunderry's Ferdia Gough played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theobald Myler in the 41st minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Banon Ryan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Rathclogh's Fernandinho Azteca ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ferdia Gough. Ferdia Gough yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Fernandinho Azteca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdia Gough having to interfere. Bowen Coyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdia Gough having to interfere. With his leg Ferdia Gough managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Rathclogh's Bowen Coyle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Rathclogh's Fernandinho Azteca slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ferdia Gough. That made the score 0-3 after 73 minutes of play. The supporters of Dunderry booed when Rathclogh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dónal McNamara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilbert Cassin lost his temper 82 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Rathclogh. Bowen Coyle stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ferdia Gough. 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Banon Ryan in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boyce Quinnless saved Rathclogh from getting behind. The supporters of Rathclogh booed when Dunderry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garrett Robinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 minutes, Bowen Coyle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rathclogh and the Dunderry players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the final whistle sounded Rathclogh left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Dunderry.
