Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Desmond Myler kicked off to start the match. Desmond Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brenden Barrett having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Balor Mullan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Athy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tate Johnson might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brenden Barrett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tate Johnson ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the game, Suibhne John was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Killoran the free kick. After a rather tough play, Athy's Suibhne John got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes Athy got a freekick which was hit by Suibhne John. When Aubrey Colwell came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Killoran fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aubrey Colwell couldn't finish the play. Desmond Myler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Brenden Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desmond Myler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tate Johnson struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Brenden Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Killoran. A collision led to Athy getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. In the 54th minute, Coran Tracy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 57 played minutes Killoran got a freekick which was hit by Aubrey Colwell. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Darrin Myler during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Athy booed when Killoran was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darrin Myler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beehan Crowe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Balor Mullan's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. The throw-in from Aubrey Colwell in the 65th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Athy's Coran Tracy. If Balor Mullan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beehan Crowe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Balor Mullan's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Tate Johnson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Killoran's Tate Johnson got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Athy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Killoran had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
