Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paul Deery started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes of play, Lamestars's Paul Deery made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brenden Barrett was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Paul Deery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Athy defense, Brecc Bayes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brenden Barrett. The Athy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brenden Barrett should have stopped the shot. Paul Deery scored 0-3 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brenden Barrett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Lamestars booed when Athy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baiscend McTom didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Davie Barrett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brenden Barrett. Athy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Davie Barrett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Brenden Barrett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brecc Bayes went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Paul Deery put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Brenden Barrett. Lamestars's Paul Deery got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Athy's Brenden Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brecc Bayes in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Corey Keegan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Brenden Barrett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Lamestars booed when Athy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Coran Tracy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brecc Bayes in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brenden Barrett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Brecc Bayes made a precise shot to the right of Brenden Barrett. Athy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Davie Barrett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lamestars's supporters rose to their feet, but Davie Barrett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brenden Barrett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Athy's Brenden Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brecc Bayes in the 42nd minute of play. Brecc Bayes took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brenden Barrett. Brenden Barrett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-10 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Balor Mullan to strike the kick off in the second half. Lamestars's Davie Barrett was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Lamestars's Séamus Morrison was substituted for Brecc Bayes. Athy's Brenden Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Athy from getting a goal against them. 64 minutes into the match, Athy's goal looked a bit too open when Davie Barrett came free, but Brenden Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brenden Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Séamus Morrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 played minutes Athy got a freekick which was hit by Baiscend McTom. Lamestars made a substitution. Berchan Frankson replaced Brazil Rogers. Baiscend McTom hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Aaron Jameson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Athy's Brenden Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Athy from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Athy's Brenden Barrett got control of the ball when Paul Deery tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brenden Barrett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Davie Barrett went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-12 was the resulting score. Lamestars's Davie Barrett managed to work through Athy's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Davie Barrett dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Paul Deery could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Brenden Barrett made a huge save. Brenden Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Séamus Morrison in the 88th minute of play. Davie Barrett received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Brenden Barrett came out and tried to block the shot, but Davie Barrett slotted it home off the left post making it 0-13 in the 92nd minute. The Athy fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lamestars were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
