Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 4th minute, Chesney Ottaway ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastian Godsall was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 8th minute, Drew Dry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chesney Ottaway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute, Jon Mallon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alastair Downing was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jon Mallon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Alastair Downing made a huge save. The supporters of Great Ayton United booed when King Foot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Dry didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jon Mallon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alastair Downing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drew Dry, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 38th minute, Great Ayton United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Drew Dry fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Alan Chegwyn scored 1-2 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastian Godsall, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jasper Marsden might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alastair Downing. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jasper Marsden ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Drew Dry to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match, Alan Chegwyn tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sebastian Godsall saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Chesney Ottaway's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastian Godsall read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After 61 played minutes King Foot got a freekick which was hit by Rhys Platt. Nat Stonebridge was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Great Ayton United's Chesney Ottaway sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Godsall narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jon Mallon in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alastair Downing saved Great Ayton United from getting behind. In the 77th minute Drew Dry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alastair Downing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jack Jones's late challenge caught a King Foot's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jack Jones helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Great Ayton United getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jack Jones hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Jon Mallon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alastair Downing. Great Ayton United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jon Mallon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Sebastian Godsall was a little too slow when Alan Chegwyn got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Chegwyn in the 93rd minute of play forced King Foot's goalkeeper Sebastian Godsall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
