Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Reg Heath took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ted Barat hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Kev Gray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gav Dunne in the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Ted Barat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kev Gray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bristol Centre's zone, Reg Heath stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kev Gray came out of the goal and Reg Heath tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kev Gray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Barat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19thth minute of the game Ted Barat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bristol Centre's Kev Gray was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Howard Macken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stew Bayliff in the 24th minute of the match. If Ted Barat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted Barat took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kev Gray. Kev Gray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 36th minute, Gav Dunne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Openshaw United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Bristol Centre's Kev Gray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Barat in the 43rd minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iain Bignot was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Bristol Centre's goalkeeper Kev Gray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ted Barat. Reg Heath recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute Oscar Cowling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kev Gray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Bristol Centre's Kev Gray got control of the ball when Ted Barat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Openshaw United's Reg Heath got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Openshaw United's goal looked a bit too open when Iain Bignot came free, but Howard Macken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Cowling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Ted Barat fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Kev Gray, passed just outside the right post. Kev Gray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reg Heath in the 64th minute of the match. Marty Wells hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Bristol Centre's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Heath came free, but Kev Gray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 played minutes Bristol Centre got a freekick which was hit by Stewart Leeson. In the 74th minute, Ted Barat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kev Gray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reg Heath in the 75th minute of play. Ted Barat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Openshaw United's Reg Heath got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kev Gray made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Ted Barat sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded Openshaw United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bristol Centre.
