In the 4th match minute, Truro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Gamble to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Truro defense, Chaz Ronson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John-Paul Carey-Bertram. The Truro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John-Paul Carey-Bertram should have stopped the shot. Tris Borrowdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Parkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Tris Borrowdale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danny Parkin in the 10th minute. Chaz Ronson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Truro's goal looked a bit too open when Chaz Ronson came free, but John-Paul Carey-Bertram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Mirfield's goal looked a bit too open when Fitz Stonehouse came free, but Tris Borrowdale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Fitz Stonehouse made the kick off in the second half. The corner ended in Vance Thackray almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mirfield's Tris Borrowdale did a great save. Chaz Ronson's late challenge caught a Truro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chaz Ronson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Chaz Ronson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vance Thackray was slow to take the kick. During this time Truro's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Vance Thackray got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tris Borrowdale quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 72nd minute Ashley Mullan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John-Paul Carey-Bertram saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Sean Hardwick was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mirfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Truro the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Fitz Stonehouse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danny Parkin struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Tris Borrowdale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Truro. Tris Borrowdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fitz Stonehouse in the 76th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Mirfield's goal looked a bit too open when Fitz Stonehouse came free, but Tris Borrowdale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fitz Stonehouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Tris Borrowdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chaz Ronson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mirfield players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Truro.
