When Dylan Walker fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Richings Park FC's protests and gave Dylan Walker a yellow card for diving instead. 14 minutes into the game, Brian Newland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Keith Leeson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Brian Newland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20thth minute of the game Victor Boyle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sherborne's Keith Leeson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Richings Park FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Noel Blewett hit a great ball. Bobby Craven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tod Letheren in the 26th minute of play. Tod Stobbs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Craven having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Victor Boyle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keith Leeson. Sherborne's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victor Boyle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Tod Letheren struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Bobby Craven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sherborne. A collision led to Sherborne getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Philip Garlick hit a great ball. Keith Leeson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Newland in the 40th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henry Woods during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Richings Park FC booed when Sherborne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Woods didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute of the match Sly Wilkins shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keith Leeson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Sherborne booed when Richings Park FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Richings Park FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
